Sarasota Police investigate two home invasions

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are investigating two home invasions that occurred Saturday.

The first one occurred just after 1 a.m. in the 1200 block of 38th St.; the second just after 11 p.m. in the 3800 block of Rilma Ave.

The homes are approximately 1/10 of a mile away from each other. Investigators do not yet know if the crimes are related as they are still collecting and comparing evidence from both locations.

According to a SPD report two unidentified armed masked men burst into the 38th St. location and demanded cash and valuables from the occupants.

Fortunately nobody was injured during that incident.

During the second crime two unidentified armed masked men broke in and demanded cash and valuables from the residents. A male victim suffered a cut to the back of his head when he was struck by one of the suspects.
