FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police have arrested a substitute teacher who they say had sexual contact with a female student under the age of 13.

The Farmington Hills Police Department says 58-year-old Andrew Howell faces second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges following the incident during school hours at a Farmington Hills school on March 19.

Police say he was arraigned Friday in 47th District Court and bond was set at $1 million.

Howell, who has been a substitute teacher for over 25 years, is due in court for a preliminary examination on April 12.

Police didn't release any further details, but say their investigation of the incident is ongoing.
