Study says adults text and drive more than teens

Teens normally get the bad rap for being top offenders when it comes to texting and driving, but a new study done by AT&T might surprise you.

Researchers found that adults actually take the title of most likely to text while driving.

AT&T surveyed more than 1,000 adults, with 98 percent agreeing that texting or e-mailing while driving is unsafe. But 49 percent of them admitted to doing it as well.

That's compared to only 43 percent of teen drivers who admitted to texting while driving.

Perhaps teens just aren't fessing up as much, but AT&T says these new numbers suggest the number of adults doing it is rising.

The study found most people say it's just a habit they can't kick. The study also found women are more likely to text and drive than men.
