The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says someone stole guns, equipment and a vest from an unmarked agency car.

They say the robbery happened sometime during the evening or overnight hours of March 11 and 12.

The car was in the area of 80th Avenue N and 41st Street N in Pinellas Park.

Detectives say the burglar broke into the trunk of the car and stole the following items:

  • Rock River Arms Rifle with magazines
  • Glock-model pistol
  • Blackhawk paddle holster & drop-down leg holster
  • A black vest with "Sheriff" on the front and back in white letters.

The contents of the vest included Glock-model magazines, a tactical flashlight, a Bench Mark knife, a set of Smith and Wesson handcuffs, and a radio holder.

In addition, a black nylon duty belt with handcuff case, expandable baton and holder, and a magazine pouch were taken.

This is the second time this week the sheriff's office said guns have been stolen from an unmarked car.

Monday, an abandoned car was found in Lake Maggiore in St. Petersburg. It turned out to be an unmarked police car, and weapons were missing from the trunk.
