Four students at the University of South Florida were allowed to return to their dorm room Tuesday following a bed bug scare, a USF spokesperson said.
Officials said bed bug inspectors found a "small number" of eggs in one room at Mu Hall, but nowhere else in the dorm and determined there was no evidence of adult bed bugs.
The university conducted the inspection after at least one resident of a room in Mu requested a bed bug check because she found small bites on her.
The USF spokesperson wouldn't confirm whether the bites were bed bug-related because of student privacy issues. He recommended students in Mu and elsewhere on campus check their belongings to make sure there are no bed bugs in or on them.
