Dontae Morris has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 42-year-old Rodney Jones.
Morris, the same man accused of killing two Tampa police officers, was convicted this month in a Tampa court by a jury from Orlando. The jury was selected across state because so many people had heard of Morris after the officers' deaths.
Jones was shot and killed outside the Cotton Club in Tampa in May of 2010.
Morris is accused of four other murders, and trials have yet to come for those.
He also is sentenced to 25 years for a robbery conviction. The sentencing comes with no parole and is to be served concurrently.
