Patient killed in Brooklyn psych ward

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NYPD says a patient in the psychiatric ward of a Brooklyn hospital has been fatally attacked.

Police say they responded to a 911 call at Interfaith Hospital Tuesday night. They found the 47-year-old victim unconscious and unresponsive with blunt force trauma to the upper torso and head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another patient in the ward, a 20-year-old man police identified as a person of interest, was arrested. He was taken to Kings County Hospital for observation.
