Expect a soggy day in the Bay area Wednesday.
FOX 13 meteorologist Dave Osterberg says most of our area could see much-needed rain, as a batch of showers and possible thunderstorms move in from the Gulf of Mexico.
Early Wednesday morning, the system was rather large in size, spanning from Hernando County down to Sarasota County, but Osterberg said it's expected to weaken as it reaches the shore.
A warmup is expected to follow over the next few days, but rain chances are still in the forecast for later this week.
