ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A hospice patient was shot and killed by her elderly husband Tuesday afternoon at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown in what was a murder-suicide, hospital officials said.

SkyFOX was live over Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, where police were investigating the shooting.

Investigators tell FOX 29 that two shots were fired inside the hospital's campus on the 1600 block of West Chew Street.

In a statement, a hospital spokesperson said the shooting happened at 1 p.m. at the hospital's hospice inpatient unit.

The hospital says the situation "appears to be a discrete incident that was a murder suicide." The hospital says no other patients or staff were harmed or threatened.

"This is a very tragic event and our hearts go out to the family of the deceased and our Lehigh Valley health Network colleagues who were involved," the hospital statement read.

Investigators with the Lehigh County Coroner's Office and the district attorney have identified the man and the woman in the shooting as Elwood Osman and Mildred Osman.

It was a soupy start today. We can expect many clouds, some sun, lots of humidity, and a chance of pop up showers any time. At least it'll be warmer: High around 80-degrees today.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. Warm temps stick around, too. And we do mean stick...because it'll be humid, too.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
