SARASOTA (FOX 13) -
Sarasota's very own daredevil,
Nik Wallenda, is planning to tight rope the Grand Canyon in June.
He announced the news
on his Facebook page Monday. Wallenda says he will make the walk June 23, and
Discovery Channel will broadcast it live.
Wallenda will walk
across without a harness. It was required when he walked successfully across
Niagra Falls, going against the tradition of his family.
Wallenda, 34, was born
and raised in Sarasota. Just a few months ago he walked a high wire across U.S.
