A 26-year-old Hillsborough County man died Friday night from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Tampa.
Gregory Joseph Ashpaugh was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 6:40 p.m.
According to a Tampa Police Department report the incident occurred at the intersection of Commerce Palms and Compton drives. Ashpaugh was traveling in the direction of Bruce B. Downs Blvd. on his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle when another vehicle veered into his path.
Investigators say Rossi C. Lopez of Tampa violated Ashpaugh's right of way with her 2008 Pontiac G6. Ashpaugh's bike struck the left side of the Pontiac. He was ejected from the motorcycle and went through the back window of Lopez's vehicle.
She told investigators she did not see Ashpaugh. Lopez was not injured but was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
