On the second day of Dontae Morris' trial for the murder of Rodney Jones, a woman took the stand who says Morris confided in her.
Ashley Price is the key to the prosecution's case against Morris.
She met him through her sister, and says Morris often called her, at least every other day.
In June of 2010, she says he called her and out of the blue, confessed to a murder.
"Can you tell the jury what he told you about that murder?" the attorney asked.
"That he made a mistake. That he made a mistake," Price said.
Price says Morris told he killed "Scarface" just a few days before.
"Scarface" was Jones' nickname. Price testified that Morris told her he shot Jones in the head outside of bar.
Price told the jury Morris said he did it for revenge because Jones previously robbed Morris and his friend.
Price wore a jail uniform because she's being held on other charges not related to this case.
But the defense, pounced on her questioning previous felony charges she faced and whether she was lying about Morris just to save herself.
The defense attorney wanted to know if police or prosecutors promised her anything.
Morris watched her testify didn't show any emotion during her nearly 20 minutes on the stand.
The jury was sent back to their hotel room early because other witnesses were not available until Wednesday.
Wednesday, the evidence is expected to include text messages that were reportedly sent from Morris to his girlfriend Cortnee Brantley. Prosecutors say they were sent to secure his alibi.
