If you're hitting the road for spring break, you may encounter a few more orange barrels than normal. A number of road construction projects are underway in the Bay Area.
Sure, you probably know about the high-profile projects like the Crosstown Connector and the I-275 widening in Tampa. But there's also work being done on I-75, the Skyway, and other local roads.
The state Department of Transportation maintains a list of all the active projects in the area. You may want to check before you leave to see if you should anticipate delays or detours.
