Extreme sport meets extreme need

One Florida family is making a difference around the world through a sport activity that they love.

The Russell family -- dad Mark and kids Chase, Holt, and Trey -- is kiteboarding trying to raise $50,000 to build an orphanage in Tanzania.

"There are three million kids over there that are homeless, without parents. That's a tough life. You have 6-year-olds taking care of 4-year-olds," Mark explained. "We want to use the sport that we love -- that I find freedom in and kind of an escape from -- to provide for kids, to give them that same kind of freedom."

Some time this month, when the weather is just right, 15 riders will be riding 50 miles from Miami to the Keys with the goal of raising $50,000.

"It'll take us between three and six hours to complete the entire 50-mile run. It really depends on the wind direction," Mark added.
