Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., laced up his boxing gloves for a fight that has nothing to do with budget cuts.

The 68-year-old Long Islander is known more for his bare-knuckle politics than his pugilistic skills. He plans stepped into the ring Saturday for a two-round exhibition bout against a New York state light heavyweight kickboxing champion, "Irish" John Foley, at a pub in Wantagh, N.Y.

King says he weighed in at about 230 pounds and had been training for about nine years.

The congressman joked that while he planned to throw real punches, Foley would probably throw "sort-of-real punches."

"If Josh had gone all out I would have been knocked out. To me, it's like going to a ribbon cutting or throwing out the first pitch of the Mets game. It's my job to promote local business," King told Good Day NY.

King says that back in 1991 he boxed with former pro Seamus McDonagh in an exhibition bout on the 20th anniversary of the first Joe Frazier-Muhammad Ali fight.

Nicolas Colucci and the rest of his family was supposed to go on a cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway. They did not buy travel insurance, so Norwegian says they cannot rebook the cruise so close to departure. The CEO of a rival cruise line saw their story and reached out to the Colucci family to offer them a free cruise.
