TAMPA (FOX 13) -
Hillsborough County officials say they uncovered an extreme
case of animal abuse, and they're amazed a poodle-terrier mix is still alive.
The dog was taken to a vet with a missing foot. They believe
it was hit by a car.
It was covered in fleas and badly malnourished. Vets say the
owner of the dog had been neglecting it for some time.
"It's amazing how tough they are, but we're so happy to be
here and we're able to help him," said Isabelle Roese of animal services. "And it's
going to be another happy story for animal services.
The owner could be charged with animal cruelty. The dog will
go up for adoption.
