Fox 2 has learned that Michigan based Meijer stores will eliminate double coupons in some of its markets. A spokesperson for Meijer also says the company is investing in lower prices.
"Double coupons only affect a certain percentage of items and we believe that lowering prices throughout the store is more of a benefit to our customers," says Public Relation Director Frank Gugliemi.
Gugliemi says most of the 40+ metro Detroit Meijer stores will continue to accept double coupons but that could change in the coming months.
Meijer customers should check with their local Meijer for the most updated policy.
Gugliemi says all Meijer stores still accept coupons at face value.
