SPRING HILL (FOX 13) -
A suspect is in the hospital recovering after he was shot during an altercation with a deputy in Spring Hill.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says the deputy was responding to reports of a suspicious person at a home near Candler Avenue and Fortune Street.
When they arrived and confronted the man, deputies say he attacked them. That's when the deputy apparently pulled his gun and shot him.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.
