Chris Archer looked sharp in his inning of work, as the Rays edged the Twins 10-7 in 10 innings on Sunday.
Archer hit 97 miles per hour on the radar gun, as well as worked on his change-up.
"I only threw one for a strike," Archer said. "But I threw like five or six, and they were all quality."
The 24-year-old-Ray is vying for a spot in Tampa Bay's starting rotation, while reliever Juan Sandoval just wants a spot on the team. Sandoval is attempting to pitch in the major leagues with just one functioning eye after a hunting accident in 2006.
Sandoval gave up one run and two hits in an inning of work and struck out one.
