DUETTE (FOX 13) -

A 75-year-old Apollo Beach man died Sunday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash near Duette in Manatee County.

Ronald K. Dollaway was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m. The incident occurred near the intersection of Taylor Grade and Keene roads.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Dollaway was traveling north on his 2004 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The bike veered northeast and into a barbed wire fence. It came to rest on a parcel of private property in the 11000 block of Taylor Grade Rd.

Dollaway, 75, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol did not play a factor and no charges have been filed.

The investigation continues.
