Visibility along the Skyway Bridge could be a problem for commuters early Monday morning.Sea fog was causing visibility issues Monday morning on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
Drivers may encounter low visibility along the bridge and several other Bay area roadways Monday morning.
Heavy fog began rolling in around the Skyway Fishing Pier just after 7 p.m. Sunday. Fog also created visibility issues late Saturday and early Sunday. It was dense out in the Gulf that two cruise ships were delayed in their return to the Port of Tampa.
Surveillance cameras installed by the Florida Department of Transportation showed sporadic bouts of fog a few hours later.
According to a FHP report drivers should travel with reduce speeds with low-beam headlights when encountering fog. Increasing following distance is also encouraged during low visibility.
The fog is also very bad in our inland counties, and it could stick around throughout Monday, FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg said.
