A Friday afternoon traffic stop landed a Port Charlotte man in jail after deputies found over 1,000 grams of marijuana in his vehicle.
Vladimir Morrobel, 24, was booked into the Charlotte County Jail on a variety of charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Deputies also confiscated $550 in cash and the suspect's Dodge Charger.
He is being held without bond.
According to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office report a deputy pulled Morrobel over after witnessing him driving erratically on State Road 776 near Toledo Blade Blvd.
The tint on Morrobel's vehicle was also darker than state law allows.
When the deputy approached the suspect's car he detected a strong marijuana odor. When the deputy asked Morrobel if he had any illegal drugs, weapons or other contraband in his vehicle he replied no.
A search turned up a plastic Wal-Mart bag containing a baggie of pot under the driver's seat. A Nike bag was also found on the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle. It contained more baggies of the illegal drug, cash and a cell phone.
Morrobel is no stranger to law enforcement in Charlotte County. He has been arrested on three previous occasions on grand theft, larceny and failure to register charges.
