Police: Woman bit, then charged officer with car

LARGO (FOX 13) -

A 27-year-old Largo woman is behind bars for attempted murder after she allegedly bit and ran a police officer over with a car.

Jamie Ramseur faces a slew of other charges as well, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of crack cocaine, resisting arrest, felony hit and run and grand theft.

Police say it all began early Friday morning when she and another man pulled into a Super AM convenience store at 1595 Seminole Boulevard.

An officer spotted them, ran the tags, and realized the car was stolen. But when he approached the pair outside the convenience store, Ramseur jumped in the car and tried to get away, police said.

According to LPD, the officer tried getting the keys from the ignition. Ramseur bit him and ran over his leg. She also apparently struck two other people, another car and a dumpster.

As she got away, the injured officer, who has not been identified, radioed for help. Other officers pursued the woman in her car and tracked her down in a neighborhood. Officers say she was parked between two other vehicles with her lights off.

But she again lashed out in attack, allegedly throwing one officer back and trying to pin him with the car. Again, the woman fled the area, but she crashed the car into a front yard. A short time later, K-9 units tracked her down and she was arrested.

Police are still looking for the man who was with her.
