ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

A craving for waffles ended with a trip to the hospital after a bullet exploded in an oven in St. Petersburg.

According to St. Pete Police, 25-year-old Jarvarski Sandy was storing a magazine with four bullets in it in his oven.

They say his friend, 18-year-old Aalaya Walker, turned on the oven to make waffles, and shortly after that, the bullet exploded.

Walker was hit on her chest, thighs and knees with bullet fragments. Police said she went to the hospital with superficial wounds.

The police report did not say why Sandy was storing bullets in the oven. Investigators said his gun was not stolen and he has a concealed-carry permit. No charges were filed.
