A longtime Pinellas County deputy is out of a job after an internal investigation found he lied about his off-duty encounter with a prostitute.
On another occasion, Deputy Robert Johnson revealed confidential information about a drug case to his ex-wife, and the violations don't stop there.
"We also find out that he's – while on duty – transporting his kids to school, and he's not available to respond to calls," Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said. "He's not available to respond to backup, so it's just a complete series of things, and a lot of these things were developed in the last month."
Johnson was told if he didn't resign he would be fired. He had worked for the sheriff's office since 1999.
