TEMPE, Ariz. -

He's a wrestling legend and ASU alum. Now Anthony Robles says he's coming out of retirement to train for the upcoming 2016 summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Robles won a national title for the Sun Devils two years ago, and has since made a career as a motivational speaker.

The news comes just days after it was announced that the international Olympic committee is cutting wrestling from the 2020 summer games.

In it's place -- field hockey. The IOC defended it's decision, arguing that the other 25 core sports took priority over wrestling.

Wrestling will now join seven other sports vying for inclusion in 2020. They include baseball, softball, karate, squash, roller sports, climbing, wakeboarding and wushu, a form of Chinese martial arts.
