In a true display of sportsmanship, a high school basketball rivalry in Texas was put on hold to give one student his chance on the court.

Special needs student, Mitchell Marcus, has been a part of Coronado High School's basketball team as a manager for three years, but in the last game of their regular season, the coach finally gave him his shot to get into the game.

Coronado was up by 14 points against Franklin when Marcus stepped onto the court, and the crowd went wild. His teammates lost no time in passing Marcus the ball, but on his first try, he missed.

That's when a player from the other team decided Marcus' chance was more important than a high school rivalry, and passed him the ball again.

"Since we were down and there was only 13 seconds left, might as well give Mitchell his last shot," the Franklin player said.

The end of the game found Coronado undefeated and both sides of the gym cheering on Marcus.
