A 31-year-old Tampa man died Friday night from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hillsborough Ave. and Orient Rd.
Troy Allen Yambura was pronounced dead at the scene just after 7 p.m.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Randall Scott Crowe was heading west in his 2011 GMC K2500 on Hillsborough when he attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Orient.
Yambura was traveling east on Hillsborough when the GMC pulled directly into his path. His 2000 Kawasaki ZX900 motorcycle was hit on the right side by the SUV.
The Tampa resident, who was wearing helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and into the roadway.
Crowe, a 51-year-old St. Cloud man, was not injured.
Investigators say alcohol did not play a factor in the crash. Crowe was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The roadway was closed for nearly two hours as detectives gathered information and spoke to witnesses. The official cause of the crash is not yet known as the investigation continues.
