Worth it or wasted: charging stations

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA (FOX 13) -

We've all heard and seen the push to go green, but what's it costing you? The answer is millions when it comes to electric car charging stations. President Obama wants to see one million electric cars on the road by 2015, so the federal government is offering new buyers a big tax credit of $7,500.

But where can these drivers go to fill up?

That's where the charging stations come into play. The federal government is passing out $15 million in stimulus money to select cities to build these charging stations.

St. Petersburg and Tampa are target cities and now have 10, each at a cost of $4,000 to $5,000. Is that money well spent or wasted?
