The eyes of an owl can be seen from behind the grille of an SUV. The owl was trapped inside after flying through the grill in Florida.
An owl trapped inside the grille of an SUV in Florida was finally rescued.
The owl became stuck inside the grille Thursday night when an SUV was heading south on the Florida Turnpike.
The driver, Sonji Coney Williams, says she was driving 60 miles-per-hour when she thought she'd hit a bird. She says she didn't pull over because it was very dark.
She didn't realize the owl flew right through her grill.
It wasn't until Friday afternoon while running errands in South Florida that she found out the owl was caged inside of her SUV.
Williams says a family pulled in front of her parking space and flagged her down to tell her there was something inside of the grille.
Williams says a fish and wildlife officer popped the hood and freed the bird. The owl was taken to a local veterinary office as a precaution but appeared to be just fine.
