Authorities in North Port are asking for the public's help in tracking down a prowler who has been observed peeking into windows the past several weeks in the North Chamberlain Blvd. area.

Investigators say the suspect is a white male wearing dark clothing. No other description is available at this time. He is apparently targeting young female teenagers.

According to a North Port Police Department report patrols have been stepped up in those neighborhoods. The agency is expected to issue a Code Rode requesting assistance from all residents of the area.

Citizens are encouraged to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area. It is also recommended that residents keep their outside lights on to ensure highest visibility at night.

Other safeguards may include the lowering of blinds and using caution when answering the door.

Detectives with NPPD are reviewing all cases that are similar in nature.
