Build it and they will come.
That's what the Hillsborough County chapter of Habitat for Humanity is hoping. The charity organization is building a new home and they are conducting a search to find its residents.
Early Saturday morning the process began at 8435 Radio Lane in Tampa. Volunteers broke out their hammers and got to work.
The financial qualification for a family of four is an income of $45,000 or less. Applications will go through a selection process that will involve a little elbow grease.
The selected family must work on the new home and other future homes construction by Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity refers to the volunteer time as ‘sweat equity.'
The new homeowners will receive a 30-year interest-free mortgage. The new residence is valued at $99,500.
Many struggling Bay area families may not even realize that they are eligible to receive help such as this. To find out if your family qualifies click on the link beneath the photo.
