A 24-year-old Palm Harbor man is facing a variety of charges including robbery stemming from his involvement in a string of convenience store robberies in Dunedin.
Trevor David Winsett was booked into the Pinellas County Jail where he is being held on a bond of $75,000.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report the suspect robbed and burglarized the Munchees convenience store in the 2100 block of Bayshore Blvd. on three separate occasions.
Detectives say during the commission of those crimes approximately 100 scratch-off lottery tickets were stolen. Winsett was identified as a suspect through fingerprints lifted from the stolen tickets that were cashed in.
The fingerprints belonged to Winsett's brother.
The suspect struck on January 17th, January 29th and February 1st investigators say. The report states that Winsett gave some scratch-off tickets to his brother and his girlfriend following the January 29th robbery.
A few days later they cashed in some winning tickets at a 7-11 location in Palm Harbor.
Winsett was arrested following an interview with detectives late Thursday night. He allegedly told investigators he gave the tickets to his brother to pay off a debt.
The suspect is no stranger to law enforcement. Winsett has been arrested on two previous occasions. In 2010 he was arrested in Pasco County on an auto burglary charge and in the same year he was arrested in Pinellas County on dealing in stolen property charges.
He is currently facing two counts of burglary, one count of robbery and one count of dealing with stolen property.
