Police say they've arrested six suspects involved in a string of carjackings within the city of Atlanta.
Investigators say they formed a multi-jurisdictional task force last month to investigate a series of carjackings which all followed a similar pattern. They eventually identified six men they say were responsible for about a half dozen different carjackings since the beginning of the year.
Atlanta police says all the carjackings were in similar style and proximity which prompted the task force. They said each carjacking included more than more of the men and were violent.
Investigators say Ladarious Gibbs, 21, and Derek Turner, 19, were arrested and taken to the Cobb County Jail. Brandon Washington, 21, Andre Clark, and Rapheal Banks, both 24, were arrested and taken to the Fulton County Jail. Police later arrested 21-year-old Ronald Washington.
Cobb, Gwinnett, and DeKalb county police assisted in the search. They are investigating to see if the men are linked to other carjackings throughout the metro Atlanta area.
Police say the men may be linked to other violent crimes in addition to other carjackings.
