GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

If you found a shiny new iPad, would you try to return it to its rightful owner—or would you keep it?  A Gwinnett County middle school student was determined to do the right thing when it happened to him, and it turned out the owner was a former baseball player who is familiar to many.

Mauricio Ayala was shopping with his mom at a Gwinnett County Sam's Club store when he found an iPad in a cart in the parking lot.  After a few moments of consideration, he decided to grab it--- but he didn't keep it.

Instead, Mauricio took the iPad to Louise Radloff Middle School, where he is an eighth grader.  He hoped the school's computer technician, Michael Ladd, could help him track down the owner—even though the iPad was locked.

Ladd found the owner, and no one would have guessed who that would be.  The iPad belonged to none other than former Major League Baseball player Marlon Anderson, who had been searching high and low—and even in the freezer—for his missing tablet.

"The funniest place I checked was I looked in the freezer because I put my groceries in the freezer," Anderson told FOX 5.

Anderson went to the school to pick up his iPad, but he didn't come empty-handed.  Instead, he brought Mauricio a reward—in the form of an autographed bat.

And, the return of Anderson's iPad sparked another reunion.  He met up with Good Day Atlanta's Ron Gant, an old friend and former teammate, for a chance to reconnect—thanks to Mauricio. Anderson and his family recently moved to Atlanta.
