Police Serve Search Warrant In School Abduction Case

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

In the early hours of Friday morning, Fox 29 learned that police had served a search warrant on a house in connection with the case of a kidnapped 5-year-old girl from her kindergarten classroom.

That house is on the 6200 block of Walton Avenue in Cobbs Creek.  Police sources say they found several pieces of evidence in that house, including an exotic bird. The little girl told investigators during her interviews that she heard a large bird squawking repeatedly during her time held captive.

Sources say she lead them to the rear alley of a home on Wednesday after Fox 29 saw the little girl and her mother walking with investigators on Larchwood Street.

Fox 29's cameras were the only ones there as the little girl and her mom, re-visited the neighborhood where they believe she was held captive.

They later went to an alley behind Walton street and the little girl recognized the rear of the home.

The little girl was the subject of an Amber Alert when she was taken from Bryant Elementary School last month. She was found the next morning hiding beneath a playground.

Police have not been discussing the full extent of what they believe was done to the little girl, who was treated at a hospital after she was found.
