An arctic blast is sending chills through our region.
And while there's no doubt they'll see a ton of snow to the north of us this weekend, it looks like we won't see that much.
In fact, we haven't really seen much of it in the last couple of years. A lot of that white stuff just keeps missing our region.
Why do the big snowfalls keep missing us? FOX 29's Steve Keeley was talking about that on Thursday morning, and he got some help from FOX 29 Meteorologist Caitlin Roth.

Snowiest calendar day: Jan. 25, 2013 (1.5 inches)
Snowfall last season: 4 inches
Average seasonal snowfall: 22.8 inches
Snowiest calendar day last season: Jan. 21, 2012 (2.3 inches)
Last 6-inch+ snow event: Feb. 21-22, 2011 (6 inches)

Scattered showers and a few strong thunderstorms this evening. Any storms could produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds. Temperatures rise into the 80s before the storms hit.
Wednesday is shaping up to be drier and nicer than yesterday’s wet and unsettled mess. Clearing skies will give way to some sunshine and a comfortable day. Winds will be out of the North around 5-10 mph with highs near 80 with low humidity levels. Enjoy!
