Deputies say an elderly man was hit and killed by a semi-truck in Lakeland Wednesday morning.
It happened on County Line Road just north of Spring Creek Drive.
The man, 74-year-old James Bernard Edwards of Spring Creek Drive, died at the scene.
The road was closed for a brief period, but it has since been reopened.
