A new investigation into Citizens Insurance has found more evidence of waste. Regulators accused the state-run insurer of excessive travel and office expenses.
State regulators say Citizens has been paying more than $10,000 a month in vacant office space alone. They also say Citizens has not been doing enough to negotiate cheaper prices before making larger purchases.
Last month, another audit from the inspector general also slammed Citizens for excessive spending.
FOX 13 has asked Citizens to comment on the report. We have not received a response.
Political Editor Craig Patrick will have more on this story later today.
