A Citrus County woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after detectives say she killed her 6-month-old infant.
Brittany Arnett, 20, was arrested Monday.
Investigators say on January 28, Arnett and her boyfriend took the baby to the hospital because he was unresponsive and not breathing.
The medical staff was unable to revive him.
The next day, an autopsy concluded the infant, Hadley Arnett, had brain hemorrhaging, broken ribs and lacerations.
Detectives say Arnett confessed to slamming the baby's head against the tray on his swing, and forcefully yanking him out of the swing.
According to an affidavit from the Citrus Sheriff's Office, Arnett said she said she "became frustrated and angry that she was left alone with the infant."
She is charged with first-degree murder.
