Child hit by car on Busch Blvd. in Tampa

An eight-year-old child was seriously injured Sunday morning when she was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Busch Blvd. and 14^th St.

The little girl was transported to Tampa General Hospital just after 11 a.m. She is listed in critical condition and her identity has not been released.

According to a Tampa Police Department report the incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Busch Blvd. Detectives had the road closed for almost two hours for their investigation.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
