A 34-year-old Riverview woman was arrested by deputies in Manatee County Friday night on a driving under the influence charge.
Brenda Lee Lorenzo was booked into the Manatee County Jail early Saturday morning. She was released after posting a bond of $500.
According to a MCSO report dispatchers received several calls in reference to a careless driver traveling in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near the Moccasin Wallow Rd. exit at approximately 10:40 p.m.
A deputy was dispatched to that location where he observed a vehicle swerving across all southbound lanes of the roadway. He attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver failed to pull over.
The report states the driver was traveling as slow as 20 miles per hour while the deputy pursued her. Lorenzo's vehicle finally came to a stop near the State Road 64 exit.
Fortunately nobody was injured and there was not vehicle or property damage. A traffic unit conducted several field sobriety tests on the suspect. She was arrested and charged with one count of DUI.
In June 2001 Tampa Police arrested Lorenzo on a similar charge.
