TAMPA (FOX 13) -

City and state leaders want you to know that there may be money available to you if you went through foreclosure during Florida's real estate crash.

Attorney General Pam Bondi, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster are urging foreclosure victims to apply for money from a national $8 billion mortgage relief settlement.

Bondi says homeowners were taken advantage of in several ways.

""False affidavits that were used during your loan. Lost paperwork, long delays. Robo-signings. We know those were all rampant during those years, so that's why it's so important that people apply for this money," Bondi said.
