Melinda Ademi of Yonkers and Chris Watson from Woodbridge, New Jersey are going on to Hollywood.
The locals are contestants in this season's American Idol.
"When you know who you are nothing can intimidate you and respect other people for what they're doing," said Watson about the competition.
"The first round went well. I'm so, so happy. In season 10 I really wasn't happy with the outcome and now I'm back. Hopefully I can show American I have what it takes," said Ademi.
An all-new episode of American Idol airs Thursday at 8 p.m.
