Police: Teen wanted on attempted murder charge

CLEARWATER (FOX 13) -

Detectives with the Clearwater Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in locating an armed and potentially dangerous suspect.

The person they are looking for is only 16 years of age.

According to a CPD report Kwuashawn Wyche shot an unidentified adult male Friday afternoon. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Engman St. and Holt Ave. Investigators say Wyche – who goes by the nickname ‘Jersey' – got into a physical altercation with the man.

At some point investigators say the teen pulled out a firearm and shot the man. His condition and name are not known.

Wyche fled and has not been located. His last known address is the Palmetto Park apartment complex in 1000 block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Clearwater.

Wyche stands 5'5'' tall, weighs 150 pounds and has short brown hair. Police believe he is still armed. Once apprehended he will be facing an attempted felony murder charge.
