Woman struck, killed while trying to cross US 41 in Palmetto

PALMETTO (FOX 13) -

A 44-year-old Palmetto woman died Friday night after she was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross US Highway 41.

Dianna Marie Pace was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Daniel Miller was traveling north on US 41 at approximately 8:20 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Investigators say Pace was walking west to east across the roadway but failed to yield to oncoming traffic when she was struck.

Miller, 58, was not injured and immediately stopped to render assistance after the collision. Pace landed just east of the entrance to 3rd Ave. East.

No charges have been filed.
