PHILADELPHIA -

A pair of Michael Jackson shoes along with their Certificate of Authenticity were located in a limousine Sunday after police say they were stolen from an event at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia late Saturday night.

Police say the shoes were stolen during the "Hair O' The Dog" event at the hotel. Event security was handling an incident on one end of a hallway and when they returned, the shoes were gone.

FOX 29's Chris O'Connell reports the shoes were discovered by the passengers in a limousine, who learned the shoes were stolen and worked to immediately find their owner.

The shoes were allegedly taken by three guests of the event, who investigators believe took them into the limousine, but forgot to take them when they got out of the vehicle.

A spokesperson for the "Hair O' The Dog" event tells FOX 29 the person who donated the shoes does not plan to press charges.

Police and event organizers aren't sure who the guests are who took the shoes. As many as 2,000 people attended the event, organizers said.

Private security handling the auction surveyed the area at the time the shoes reported missing, but couldn't find the shoes or the people who took them.

According to the Hair O' The Dog website, the annual event helps to generate income for non-profits through fundraising. Organizers say a portion of the event proceeds are given to various local charities, including Big Brothers, Big Sisters, The National Constitution Center and The Garden of Reflection.

It was a gloomy Sunday as the whole area remain socked in with low clouds & fog, drizzle and scattered showers.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
