For a peek into just how dangerous the situation outside Whiskey North became Sunday morning
look no further than the white Mercedes Benz in the parking lot. It took bullets in the windshield, bullets in the fender and bullets in the door.
"That Mercedes has 10 rounds in it," said Samara Sodos with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say as the bar closed down two groups of guys got into an argument, it escalated from words to guns and soon at least 20 rounds were being fired outside.
Two men, Sheldon Lillie and Yakim Williams were both hit but should be all right. Deputies say so far its unclear if they're innocent or involved.
"It is pretty upsetting," said Eugene Ballard.
The aftermath of it all was enough to wake up Ballard who lives nearby. He knows the shooting could've been much worse.
"It is kind of crazy that it happens that close," he said.
"What if a stray bullet flew over to that apartment complex there and killed somebody innocent," Ballard added.
It isn't the first time things have gotten out of hand here, last July another shooting left one dead and another injured, leaving Ballard to wonder if the bar is a magnet for problems.
"I think they need to shut this down because it might keep happening," he said.
Deputies continue to investigate.
