BayCare and United Health Care have resolved a dispute that threatened to leave tens of thousands of customers without access to Bay Care facilities.
The companies signed a five-year agreement that is retroactive to November 26, 2012 so that customers' coverage is not interrupted.
The companies were in a dispute over medical fees.
BayCare has 11 Tampa Bay area hospitals in its system, along with other specialized facilities and numerous doctors. It was estimated that around 400,000 customers would have lost access to these facilities.
