PINELLAS PARK (FOX 13) -
A Pinellas County woman is dead after being ejected from the back of a pickup truck early Friday morning.
It happened near the RaceTrac gas station on 66th Street in Pinellas Park.
Police say 23-year-old Lauren Gifford and two others were riding in the back of the truck when the driver went over a curb, ejecting Gifford.
She died at the scene.
The driver, 24-year-old Russell Clark, stopped the truck, got out and fled on foot.
Officers eventually found him, interviewed him and obtained a blood sample.
No charges have been filed; toxicology reports are pending.
